Expectations and Adjustments
No guarantees are made as to the salability or marketability of the formatted manuscript. Nor is there a guarantee that the manuscript will be completely error-free, though all efforts will be made to make it so.
This Agreement may be amended only in writing, agreed to by both parties.
Once the project is in process, either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice, agreed to by both parties or sent through certified mail. Once work has begun on the project, the AUTHOR can expect to receive no more than a 25% refund in the case of termination of the agreement.

AUTHOR will furnish one (1) single manuscript, previously agreed upon.
CONSULTANT will take the following actions for this one (1) manuscript in support of the AUTHOR:
- Complete a content on the full manuscript as the sections are completed, making adjustments to the structure and organization of the manuscript as needed without changing the tone or the verbiage (voice) of the AUTHOR.
- Complete a copy edit and proofread to align the manuscript with proper grammatical practices.
- AUTHOR agrees to pay the author $0.05 (five cents) per word for the entire manuscript. An initial payment of $2000 will be due with the return of this signed agreement. Balance for the editing stage of the work will be invoiced when due at the end of the editing stage.
- CONSULTANT agrees not to reproduce, give, or show any material received from AUTHOR unless agreed upon in writing.

AUTHOR’s fully edited and approved manuscript will be sent to the CONSULTANT as a Word document along with any of the following that is desired:
- A headshot – a high-resolution image saved as a .jpg file.
- A short bio of about 75 words for the back cover.
- A dedication for the beginning of the book.
- Backmatter that is desired such as About the Author, Special Thanks, A Letter to the Readers, etc.
CONSULTANT will take the following actions for this one (1) manuscript in support of the AUTHOR:
- Using AUTHOR’s given front cover or using the vision or background image and current bestsellers in the genre as examples, create three (3) cover options.
- With AUTHOR’s choices, adjustments, and approval, complete the full cover.
- Using cover design, create an interior sample matching the tone and fonts of the cover and the theme of the book.
- With AUTHOR’s requested adjustments, completely format the WORK to create a print ready manuscript.
- Reformat the WORK as an e-book file.
- CONSULTANT reserves the right to use final cover for promotional opportunities.
AUTHOR agrees to pay $400 as a base payment to initiate the design phase once the editing stage is complete. This fee will cover the first teight (8) hours of work on the manuscript. Further work will be at a rate of $50 per hour for the completed design. Total amount of design charges will not exceed $1600. Initial payment (and the balance due at the end of the design stage) will be invoiced when due.

Total amount to be prepaid on this project (with consultant balance to follow as detailed above) is $2000.00

Agreement Confirmation
This agreement becomes null and void if not signed and returned with requested payment within thirty (30) days of the contract date.
